Day 19
Mumtaz needed to go grocery shopping for herself and for the things she was sending with Hena and me to Bombay. Also she was selecting salwar material for Hena's cousin Aeeda and Aeeda's sister-in-law Seena.
So we boarded the train with our six bags, kicked the guy out of my seat who was sitting there, and left for Bombay.
Did I mention she made us a HUGE package of fried planteens- I love this woman.
Day 20 pt.1
The ride was rather uneventful we wound up being 10 min early into the train station where Abdullah, Hena's uncle, was picking us up in a taxi.
On the way to the flat he had the driver stop at a road stand so I could try neera. I forgot to take a picture. -_-() It's a clear liquid that comes from a coconut and they ferment to make toddy.
So we got to the flat and I realize that her uncle lives on the fourth floor and there is no elevator! Bwaaah!!!! Thankfully Bahadur, the watchman carried the large bags up and Irfan, another of Hena's cousins, carried up one and Hena and I got two each, I think- more than six because we had grocery bags too.
So I got a blissfully hot bath, cleaned under my finger nails, and am now borrowing a computer to post this. The way the internet works in this flat is the company had to bind the computer to an ISP remotely or something... and since only two computers are allowed on the network at one time (they already have two) and it's Sunday- I will have to wait to upload more pictures- Alas and much mourning. So yeah, I think Hena's aunt, Eeyah (full name- Rehaniyah), is cooking and it smells good- so I'm gonna go eat.
